At Cerence, we are always looking for opportunities to shine a spotlight on the countless stories from across our global teams. Recently, we had a chance to sit down with our SVP of Investor Relations, Rich Yerganian. Rich has been with Cerence since the initial spin out from Nuance. His role is to be the primary interface to the investment community and to tell the Cerence story to investors and analysts across the world.

What’s your favorite thing about working at Cerence?
My favorite part about working at Cerence is the people. I think in any company, that’s what it comes down to. You want to work with smart people – with people that want to help you succeed and you in turn want to help them succeed. It’s a very collaborative environment. That's the thing about Cerence, we're working in an exciting industry with a lot of people who are excited about doing their jobs and finding success for the company.

What’s kept you at Cerence?
Working at Cerence is exciting because we are in the middle of a vast change in the automobile industry. Seeing that happen in real-time and playing a part in that transformation is just very exciting. I’ve always been a fan of technology; I love the idea of technology changing the way we do things for the better and being a part of that at Cerence has been a key part of keeping me working here.

Do you have a favorite moment from your time at Cerence?
What’s important when you do what I do – which is basically sell the company to investors – to do that successfully I have to be engaged with a lot of different people and I have to know about a lot of different areas of the company. The willingness of so many different departments to help me be good at my job – which is helping investors understand the dynamics of the company.

What are you most looking forward to in the future at Cerence?
I’m most excited about the opportunity the company has to play a key role in the transformation of the digital car. Ultimately what that will hopefully translate to is an appreciation of the stock price and a very strong interest from the investor base.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I'm a grandfather, I have three grandchildren with a fourth on the way. Other than that, I like to try a lot of different things. I’m that nerd that you’ll see on the beach metal detecting. I also have a garden where I grow a lot of different vegetables. I’m also very into photography and will do a lot while on vacation every summer in Cape Cod. I also like to play golf and tennis and bike.
